A man was shot dead after an argument with his nephew over a honey bun in DeKalb County on Thursday.

According to DeKalb County warrants, 29-year-old Michael Crowley got angry when he found out his uncle, 48-year-old Roderick Crowley, had eaten his honey bun from the refrigerator. A witness told Michael to calm down and leave the house, but he came back and allegedly shot Roderick four times in the chest and arms, killing him.

Warrants say Michael then called 911 and told the operator that he shot Roderick and was hiding in the woods. A police dog later found Michael's gun.

DeKalb police first responded to the shooting shortly after 11:20 a.m. last Thursday at the 4100 block of Loveless Drive in the Ellenwood community.
