Deliberations in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial began on Monday (June 30), but proceedings hit a roadblock when one juror was reportedly unable to follow the judge’s instructions.

According to reports, the 12-member jury—composed of eight men and four women—sent a note to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian around 12:40 p.m., expressing concern about a fellow juror’s ability to participate effectively in the process.

“We have a juror, ‘Juror 25,’ who we believe cannot follow your instructions,” the note read.

Juror 25 is described as a 51-year-old man with a thick European accent. During jury selection, he stated that he lives in Manhattan with his partner and works as a scientist. He also shared that he holds a PhD in molecular biology and neuroscience.

While no further details were disclosed about the nature of the juror’s struggles, the issue raises questions about whether the panel can remain intact as they deliberate Diddy’s fate.

Combs is facing serious federal charges, including one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking, and two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. The jury must reach a unanimous decision on each charge.

As of now, it's unclear how the judge will address the situation with Juror 25 or whether an alternate juror may need to be brought in.
