Diddy Set to Be Sentenced in Federal Trial on October 3

Diddy’s legal team has formally proposed an October 3 sentencing date in a letter submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian following a brief telephone conference on Tuesday (July 8).
The update comes after Diddy’s attorney filed a motion for his immediate release, following a mixed verdict in which the music mogul was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
In response to the request for release, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura urged the court to keep him in custody until sentencing.
Judge Subramanian ultimately denied the release request, citing disturbing admissions made by the defense during trial. “At trial, the defense conceded the defendant’s violence in personal relationships, saying ‘it happened’ in relation to Cassie Ventura and Jane,” the judge stated. “This highlights a disregard for the rule of law and a propensity for violence.”
The defense's sentencing memorandum would be due on Sept. 19 and the government's would be due a week later, per the memorandum.
