LiAngelo Ball has filed for divorce from Rashida Nicole, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The filing took place on July 3 and comes shortly after Rashida revealed her pregnancy in a solo maternity photoshoot posted to Instagram.

The announcement initially sparked speculation that the couple had quietly split, especially since LiAngelo wasn’t featured in the photos. However, he appeared to show support by liking the post and commenting with a heart, lock, and key emoji—leaving fans confused about the status of their relationship.

Following backlash over the divorce filing, LiAngelo addressed the public criticism in a statement to Billboard.

“When people conversate about my personal life, it don’t touch me or bother me too much. Like I see it, of course, because you know, everybody got a phone, but it don’t rub me the wrong way or nothing because nobody really go [through] what I go through every day. You not me, for real. So it don’t mean s***, for real.”

He continued: “I don’t even know half the people saying anything. And everybody I know rock with me. S***, there it is. I be feeling good when I step out. Got love.”

This will be LiAngelo’s third child. He shares two children, LaVelo and LaNiyah, with his ex-girlfriend, reality TV personality Nikki Mudarris.
