Former NBA player Ben McLemore has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison after being found guilty of raping a woman during a 2021 party at the home of a then-teammate.

Following a two-and-a-half-week trial, a jury convicted McLemore of rape, unlawful sexual penetration, and one count of sexual abuse. He was acquitted on a second sexual abuse charge. Clackamas County Circuit Court Judge Michael Wetzel sentenced McLemore to 100 months (approximately 8 years and 4 months) in prison.

During the trial, the victim testified that she was heavily intoxicated and unable to give consent. McLemore also took the stand, acknowledging that he had been drinking the night of the incident but insisting that the sexual encounter was consensual.

At the time of the alleged incident, McLemore was playing in the NBA and attending the party hosted by a fellow teammate.
