Jermaine Dupri recently joined the Joe and Jada podcast, where Fat Joe didn't waste any time diving into one of JD's most iconic romances—his past relationship with Janet Jackson.

Fat Joe asked the Grammy-winning producer, “What gave you the confidence to holler at Janet?”

Before JD could answer, Jadakiss chimed in with a laugh, “He’s Jermaine Dupri!”

That moment opened the door to a deeper conversation about JD's dynamic with the Jackson family during his time dating Janet. Fat Joe followed up by asking if Michael Jackson ever confronted him about being with his sister.

JD clarified that while Michael didn’t directly step to him, there was definitely a divide within the Jackson family, with some being “Team Michael” and others being “Team Janet.”

He recalled a specific conversation with Jackie Jackson, Janet’s older brother, who seemingly felt the need to educate JD on the family’s legacy.

“He started breaking it down,” JD said, recalling Jackie telling him that the Jacksons were the first Black family in L.A. to own Ferraris. JD got the sense that Jackie was trying to give him a deeper understanding of who he was dealing with—and the level of prestige that came with it.
