Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz is speaking out after a devastating drive-by shooting that left 18 people injured, including four fatally. Among those wounded were her boyfriend and best friend.

In a heartfelt statement posted on Instagram, Mello Buckzz shared that the victims were not strangers to her, but rather "friends, family, creatives, significant others, and people who’ve been by my side throughout this entire journey."

The rapper revealed that the majority of those injured in the shooting were women, calling the senseless violence a "tragic" event. She expressed deep sorrow, stating, "My heart aches for those healing from both physical and emotional wounds, as well as for the spaces and spirits that may never be the same."

Mello concluded her message by requesting continued prayers for the families of the victims, emphasizing the profound impact of the tragedy on everyone involved.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
